What are the benefits of using an Adviser vs going directly to an Insurer/ bank?
Future Proof provide high quality expert advice on Income Protection Insurance, Critical Illness Insurance, Life Insurance and Gift Inter Vivos Insurance. We also provide advice on Business Protection Insurance and Keyperson Insurance.
Our team have an excellent understanding of unusual underwriting requirements. We regularly help to arrange cover for people with chronic medical conditions and unusual or high risk occupations – in some cases clients may have had an application rejected before coming to us. We regularly help people with challenging situations arrange cover. Our advice is no obligation, we get paid by the Insurer once a policy starts.
Whilst everyone is welcome to go direct to an insurer, here are a few points highlighting the differences between an adviser and a direct Insurer (bank or non advised broker):
An Adviser – Acts on behalf of the client : An Insurer – acts on behalf of the Insurer
An Adviser – Has access to multiple products : An Insurer – Access to one product – their own
An Adviser – Is qualified to give advice to about a product : An Insurer – Is trained in sales to sell a product or non advised broker will not have qualifications
An Adviser – Provides a one to one relationship from start to finish : An Insurer – call centre, sales team, Underwriter, claims team …
An Adviser – Has a broad product knowledge with minimal gaps : An Insurer – narrow product knowledge- their own products with gaps in market knowledge
An Adviser – MUST ensure the policy is right for you : An Insurer – The risk is on the policy holder to ensure it is right for them
An Adviser – Will understand the policy wordings and can explain in simple terms : An Insurer – Client must read and understand
An Adviser – Will have buying power and relationships with underwriters : An Insurer – Will have little flexibility on the premium
We are advisers, not sales people. You and your family come first and are at the heart of any advice that we provide. We are also specialists that regularly help people with challenging health situations, hobbies or risky professions. Even, if you just need advice on how much you should insure or how long we are here to help you make the right decisions.
We like to think that we are friendly, approachable and professional! But don’t take our word for it, have a look at what our clients say about us or read about the team at Future Proof.

Whilst you are welcome to get a quote on-line but we would recommend you talk to one of our advisers.
Any quote that your adviser provides you with will take into account to your circumstances, your medical history, as well as your budget!
An on-line quote is just that – a quote – it isn’t a definite offer of cover. What really matters is the premium you are offered, after your application has been assessed.
