St. James’s Place Protection Planning have a new vacancy for a Marketing specialist. Reporting to the Head of Protection, with no direct reports this is a permanent position with a primary focus on providing marketing support to the key account management team, ensuring business objectives are achieved.

The role

  • Increasing SJP Partner skills in raising protection.
  • Raising awareness of and increasing the use of the SJPPP referral service by Partners. To ensure that SJPPP is receiving enough referrals from SJP Partners and advisers to achieve the SJPPP business plan.
  • To ensure referrals are of sufficient quality.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Work with the Key Account Management team to develop and implement the company’s marketing strategy and annual marketing plan, including a budget, that strengthens the relationship with existing partners and attracts prospective new partners
  • Deliver agreed marketing campaigns on an ongoing basis
  • Manage the practice’s digital presence across approved channels including the website, LinkedIn, directory and search
  • Create, authorise and maintain adverts and advertising material, including the distribution to clients and new prospects
  • Support the Partner with the end-to-end management of client events
  • Evaluate and measure the effectiveness of all marketing campaigns and produce relevant management information with which to inform future strategies
  • To develop relationships within SJP Marketing, Intranet, Comms and any other teams which would benefit our goal
  • To create presentations and infographic support material
  • To create written communication material for internal comms at SJP to ensure SEO compatibility
  • To understand the SJP location structure and Partner models; including the different types, their distribution, and how they interact with each other and with the Protection market
  • Creating reports and analysing data from our CRM to identify new supporters, old returners, and existing partners slowing down
  • To support the Key Account Managers so they can successfully deliver
  • Promotion of SJP PP within the SJP Field Management Team through ongoing upskilling of SJP PDMs regarding Protection and the referral service
  • Presentations, workshops and 1-2-1 bespoke training, both directly to the Partnership and via the Field Management Team
  • New referral relationships with Partners and Advisers
  • Development of existing Partner relationships to nurture and maintain a steady referral flow
  • Creation of presentation slide decks, marketing material and communication documents
  • Be aware of and manage Data Security risks
  • Ad hoc project work as required

Special requirements

Occasional travel to other SJP locations.

Person specification

Knowledge and experience

  • Previous experience in a marketing role, ideally in financial services or related sector
  • Advanced knowledge of marketing, ideally holding a Marketing degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge of digital marketing and implementing a marketing campaign
  • Knowledge of relevant FCA regulation and/or legislation applicable to practice marketing activities and legislation (desirable)
  • Comfortable with/experienced in using electronic (client) data systems

Skills and behaviours

  • Excellent face-to-face and telephone client interaction skills and ability to build rapport swiftly
  • Broad experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Experience with WordPress and in creating documents with Canva and/or adobe.
  • Good organisation skills
